A Bit of a Nothing Day

Today isn’t so much about me (because I have done absolutely nothing of any note other than buy a skipping rope for AED12 and had steak off the BBQ tonight – so two BBQs in two nights !), but in an effort to give you something to look at I’m going to put up some photos by one of my since departed colleagues (he’s gone back to France, not died, in case you were wondering !).

He has a much better eye for a good picture than I, as well a better camera so I make no apologies for providing largely bad pictures up to now…….and don’t get any ideas thank you very much !

I think this one is my favourite………….

although this one is a close second…….

and I now know where he took this one from after our BBQ jaunt yesterday…..

See, told you they were better than anything I’ve ever produced !

I’m off to do something useful now (like prepare for an early morning gym session by drinking wine and going to bed late !).

  1. Its been Raining!!!!! Yes I know we can't really compare with the desert, but nothing for the best part of 2 months does constitute Drought with a capital D here. And I am already hearing mutterings of "hope it knows when to stop." We've taken our elbows out of the sheep and are busy sending them to market now ( sheep not elbows you understand)That Pork pie does look good. S

  3. Rain........no, don't think I remember that one....I do rememeber that last year when I got back from Iraq (only a 6 week trip !) that all I wanted to do was go for a walk in a forest in the rain when I returned....Lord only knows what I'll want to do after 20+ weeks in the desert this time !

Glad you're not sending your elbows to market as it may be slightly inconvenient as far as pork pie eating goes !

WRT sand pictures (the bottom lip on the camel reminds me of somthing but I can't put my finger on it !) - there is a constant shifting of sand and we have noticed fundamental changes of landscape over time. I just wish I had taken pictures from the same spot every day so that I could look back and see how things had really changed over time.

Apologies for lack of blog in the last couple of days - put it down to sloath, lack of convenient time and total lack of internet at some inconvenient moments. More to follw soon I promise !
