Promises Promises…….

Firstly I promised you some pictures from the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge a few days ago, so I need to sort that bit out first…….

Here is the eventual winner (albeit standing still……)

It’s a Mini, but not as we know it !

There were various different, slightly more traditional 4x4 makes racing, see if you can spot which is which……

Then there were the slightly less traditional…..

and then there were bikes and Quads……

There were lorries as well but sadly I missed them as they started between the bikes and the cars and during that time I had to take some colleagues back to the office…..which was a shame because I quite fancied seeing lorries taking off across the desert and into the distance !

Still, there’s always next year !

Yesterday I took the family down to the Empty Quarter to look at big piles of sand……really big pile actually.  Tomorrow (or sometime in the next day or so, I’ll put some pictures up and a little bit of the experience which, rather bizarrely, involved sand, dead camels and 5 bus loads of Indian on their day off……which was nice…..)

For now though, be content that we are all sweltering out here and that tomorrow we are moving to Abu Dhabi for a few days before moving on to Dubai. I bid you a very hot and sweaty goodbye until next time……….
