I more sleep !

Nearly there !  I have my currency, clean pants and a list of crap as long as your arm !

I’ve said goodbye to all my friends and now it’s just the family to deal with – they’re taking me to the station tomorrow rather than the airport, Friday evening traffic around Birmingham will be pants and I need to be there at about 7 so we have collectively decided that to wave the train off and be home in 10 minutes is much better for everyone.

They’re then off to a party for a sleepover (all three of them !) which should take their minds off me not being here – which should help a great deal………

For those of you that are interested tonight’s last meal will be pork schnitzels, which fulfils a number of needs – my need for pork, just in case I don’t get any for a few months, and the kids need to watch me making pork schnitzels for one last time for a while !

I expect the next time I post will be on Saturday, by which time I should be in a hotel in Abu Dhabi city having flown into Dubai and been driven over.  I shall then be shipping out to the Western Region on Sunday to start work.

I’m sure I have shown anyone that will look, my hotel for the next 5 months but just in case you haven’t seen it or haven’t got bored with looking at it then here is the link again !

Goodbye cold damp grey England and hello warm dry sunny Abu Dhabi – and a chance to catch up on some sleep, a proper diet, lots of gym and swimming, and with any luck, a bit of Arabic and some reading……….boredom is my enemy so I must keep myself gainfully occupied and then the time will fly by……..probably……. (I’m slipping Lewis’s old PS2 into my case, just in case I can’t find anything to do in the wee small hours !
